Job Responsibilities

1. Staff Maintenance: They make the work environment conducive for workers 1. This includes ensuring staff safety, security, and health services.

2. Staff Relations: They help build a good communication network in the school or university to enable workers to be constantly informed on the progress being made 1. They treat workers with fairness and respect.

3. Staff Development: They provide or give access to in-service training, conferences, workshops, and seminars 1. This is important as there is a constant need to change, improve, and grow competence, following the ever-changing world.

4. Procurement of Staff: This function deals with obtaining people with appropriate and necessary skills, abilities, knowledge, and experience to fill the vacant teaching posts in schools or universities.

5. Job Performance Reward: They are responsible for administering rewards based on job performance.

6. Strategic Role: HR professionals should be committed to the job, remain dedicated and productive in the education system 1. When managed well, HR can be a source of competitive strength for education.

7. Operational Role: Operational activities are both tactical and administrative in nature 1. Human resources management, in this role, would be of interest in compliance with equal employment opportunities and observation of labor laws.
